What special copies actually sell for

What ordinary copies of that skin actually sold for on the day. CSFloat attaches its own base price to every sale, but base sits a few percent above what plain copies fetch, so it is corrected by the skin's median sale-to-base ratio once the skin has 5 sales on record. Below that, base is used as is. The inventory copy estimate uses the same correction, so a premium here and an estimate there mean the same thing.

From CSFloat, one of the larger CS2 marketplaces. Each night we capture the last 40 sales of every pattern-graded finish (Fade, Marble Fade, Doppler, Gamma Doppler, Case Hardened and their relatives) and of every skin viewed on this site that day, with the float, seed, fade percentage, float rank and stickers of the copy sold. It is one venue, so treat the premiums as evidence of what buyers pay, not as the whole market.

Fade % is how far the finish’s yellow-pink-purple gradient has travelled across the blade, read from the paint seed. Knives are grouped into bands (80–85, 85–90, 90–93, 93–96 and 96–100%) because the premium is not linear: most knives sell as plain copies below the low 90s and the premium concentrates in the top band. The heatmap shows the average premium per knife and band, and a hatched cell means too few sales to quote.

CSFloat ranks every known copy of a skin by float value. A #1 float is the lowest float of that skin anyone has seen, #2 the second lowest, and so on. The float rank table lists sales of #1 to #3 copies from the last 14 days, because those are the sales where the float alone is what was paid for.

The sticker book is what the applied stickers list for on their own, summed from CSFloat’s reference prices — a book value, not a bid. "Paid over normal" is how much more this buyer paid than for a plain copy of the skin. A craft rarely recovers much of its book, and on old holos the gap is enormous: one AWP | Graphite carrying $139,380 of 2017 stickers sold for $8,475. The table is ranked by what was paid, not by the book, for exactly that reason.

The record and float tables only show sales inside their window (7 and 14 days), the fade leaderboard 60 days, and a skin only appears once it has sold on CSFloat with its float and seed attached. The capture keeps the last 40 sales per skin, so a skin that sells more than 40 copies a day loses the overflow, which is accepted: premium questions are about rare copies of low-volume items.
