New accounts wait out an 8-day cancellation window first. Regular sellers do not: hit Steam level 5, $750 in total sales, a public profile and KYC, and you get an instant limit of up to $500 that refills every 8 days, resets each year and grows 5% with every sale until VIP status removes it.

The marketplace side is large, and each listing carries its float and an inspect link. The instant-sell side is narrower: its list recognises far more skins than it quotes a price for. Where there is no quote, Skin.Place is not buying that item at the moment.

The Trustpilot score sits at 4.2 from about 2,000 reviews, and the platform has run since August 2022. The things to know before selling are the 8-day hold before proceeds can leave, the 50% penalty on rollbacks or returned items, and the cancellation fees on the buy side — all published in their FAQ. Skin.Place's own figures are a 95% trade success rate and a no-rollback policy on its side; the penalty clause is for items a buyer or Steam pulls back.

Two newer pieces are worth knowing about. TradeManager is a Chrome extension from Skin.Place that sits on the Steam trade-offer page and checks the offer you are about to accept — that it comes from one of their bots and that the items match — which closes the classic fake-bot swap before you click. And their inventory page now values your whole inventory, lets you inspect each item, tracks price changes over time, and can pull up a Steam friend's inventory next to yours for comparison. Neither changes the fees; both are free.
