🔑 What are CS2 charms?

Charms (keychains) are small collectible danglers you attach to any weapon, introduced to CS2 in 2024. They hang from the weapon model and swing with movement, adding a personal touch to a skin without changing the skin itself.

A charm can be attached to and removed from weapons, but applying a charm consumes an "attach" and removing it returns the charm to your inventory. Charms are their own tradeable item type with their own market.

🛠️ How to Attach & Remove a Charm

Using a charm is straightforward, but there are a couple of quirks worth knowing:

  • Attach: open the weapon in your inventory, choose "Add Charm", and pick one from your inventory. It appears hanging from the weapon.
  • Remove: you can take a charm off and re-attach it to a different weapon — it returns to your inventory as a tradeable item.
  • Position: charms hang from a fixed point on each weapon model; they swing during movement and inspects.
  • One per weapon: each weapon holds a single charm at a time.

🎨 Rarity Tiers & Pattern Templates

Charms drop from Charm Capsules and come in rarity tiers, similar to stickers. Like Case Hardened skins, charms have a pattern template (seed) that can make certain copies more desirable — for example a charm that shows a rarer colour or metal finish.

The rarest charms with sought-after patterns — such as gold or "highlight" variants — trade for hundreds to thousands of dollars.

⚖️ Charms vs Stickers

  • Removable: charms can be taken off and reused; applied stickers are consumed permanently.
  • Pattern seed: charms have one (like Case Hardened); most stickers do not.
  • Placement: a charm hangs from one fixed point; stickers occupy up to four weapon slots.
  • Both are capsule-sourced tradeable items with their own markets.

❓ FAQ

Can I move a charm between weapons?

Yes. You can remove a charm and re-attach it to a different weapon. Removing returns it to your inventory as a tradeable item — unlike stickers, charms are not consumed.

Do charm patterns matter?

Yes for some charms. Like Case Hardened skins, charms have a pattern template, and certain seeds show rarer colours or finishes that collectors pay premiums for.

Why are some charms worth thousands?

Low supply from limited capsules, top rarity tiers, and rare patterns combine to make a handful of charms — like gold-tier grails — extremely valuable.

How many charms can I put on one weapon?

One. Each weapon holds a single charm at a time, though you can swap it whenever you like.

Are charms worth buying?

For personalisation, yes — most charms are cheap. As an investment, only the rare top-tier and rare-pattern charms have real upside, and that market is still young.
