What the Portfolio Tracker Shows

The tracker is a second view of your inventory page. Everything the appraisal knows about your items carries over; the tracker adds time and your cost basis.

How to Track Your CS2 Inventory Value

Three steps, about two minutes, nothing to install.

Sign in with Steam

Steam's own sign-in tells us which inventory is yours. Your Steam inventory must be set to Public so we can read it.

Switch to Portfolio Tracker

On your inventory page, flip the Inventory / Portfolio Tracker toggle at the top. Your value history is already there.

Set what you paid

Drag the acquire scrubber on each item, or apply one acquisition date to everything at once, and your P&L fills in.

What to Expect from the Numbers

The tracker does not give buy or sell advice. An earlier version carried buy/sell signals computed from stale data on a formula that compared two incompatible price bases; they were removed rather than kept as decoration.

  • Unrealized means unrealized. P&L is today's market price against your cost basis. Nothing is counted as profit until you record a sale on a departed item.
  • Your cost basis is yours. No marketplace tells us what you paid or what you sold for; the scrubber reads the market price on the day you pick, and you can override it.
  • Prices are market prices, the same cross-marketplace figures the inventory value calculator uses, not Steam Community Market listings with Valve's fee built in.
  • Reconstructed lines say so. The tracked-items history prices today's holdings at past dates. The whole-inventory line is an hourly record.

It is free. You sign in with Steam so we know which inventory is yours — Steam’s own sign-in never shares your password or Steam Guard codes with SteamAnalyst. There is nothing to install.
Open your own inventory page on SteamAnalyst and use the Inventory / Portfolio Tracker toggle at the top. The tracker is a second view of the same page, so everything the appraisal knows about your items is already there.
Unrealized P&L is the current market price of a tracked item minus its cost basis — the price you entered for it. Set a basis by dragging the acquire scrubber along the item’s price history: the date and the market price on that day fill in as you drag. One date can be applied to every untracked item at once. Items without a basis are shown, but excluded from P&L.
Only you, by default. Cost bases, acquisition dates and P&L are never sent to anyone who is not signed in as the owner. If you want to show it off, turn on sharing and copy the link: visitors get a read-only view and cannot change anything.
SteamAnalyst has been snapshotting inventory values hourly, so the whole-inventory line is a record. When you track a subset of items, the chart prices today’s tracked holdings at past dates from each item’s own market price history — and the caption says so, because that line is a reconstruction rather than a record.
Tracked items that leave your inventory move to a departed list instead of vanishing. You can record what each one sold for, and that realized result is labeled as your own report — no marketplace tells us your sale price.
