AWP Gungnir — Price Guide, Norse Collection Rarity & Float Premiums

Odin's legendary spear: Norse Collection origins, no-case rarity, extreme FN pricing, and why this is one of the rarest AWP skins in CS2

⚡ What is the AWP Gungnir?

The AWP | Gungnir is one of the rarest and most visually stunning sniper skins in CS2. Named after Odin's legendary spear from Norse mythology, the Gungnir was introduced in 2019 as part of the Norse Collection. What makes it exceptionally scarce is that it has never been available in any case — it could only be obtained through random drops tied to specific operations, making its supply permanently capped.

The skin features a pearlescent blue body decorated with intricate silver patterns of waves and swirls. Against the deep blue background, Odin's spear stands out as a symbol of strength and precision. Beige sections are engraved with traditional Scandinavian ornamentation, giving the weapon an almost mythical quality.

📜 History & Why It's Legendary

The Norse Collection

The Norse Collection was introduced alongside the Canals Collection during an operation cycle. Unlike most premium skins that come from cases, Norse Collection skins were operation drops only — they could never be unboxed. When the associated operations ended, the supply of new Norse Collection drops was permanently cut off.

No-Case Rarity

The Gungnir's unique position in the CS2 economy stems from its no-case status:

  • Never in any case — Cannot be unboxed, period
  • Operation drops only — Supply limited to old operation drop windows
  • Trade-ups — Theoretically possible using Norse Collection skins but prohibitively expensive
  • Supply capped — No mechanism exists to create meaningful new supply

This makes the Gungnir fundamentally different from the Dragon Lore (which can still be created via trade-ups from Cobblestone Collection skins) — the Gungnir has an even more constrained supply pipeline.

The "Other" Legendary AWP

While the Dragon Lore dominates discussions about expensive AWP skins, the Gungnir occupies a distinct and respected position:

❓ Gungnir FAQ

Can I unbox a Gungnir from a case?

No. The Gungnir has never been in any case. It was only available as an operation drop from the Norse Collection. The only ways to obtain one now are purchasing on the market or extremely expensive trade-up contracts.

Is the Gungnir rarer than the Dragon Lore?

In terms of supply pipeline, yes — the Gungnir has no case source at all, while the Dragon Lore can still theoretically be created through Cobblestone Collection trade-ups. However, the Dragon Lore has the additional Souvenir variant dimension.

Why is the Gungnir sometimes more expensive than the Dragon Lore?

Low-float FN Gungnir copies can exceed Dragon Lore FN prices due to even more constrained supply. However, the Dragon Lore's Souvenir variants reach much higher peaks ($200,000+).
