What is a CS2 Skin Inspector?

Our CS2 Skin Inspector reveals the hidden details of any Counter-Strike 2 skin before you buy it. Every skin has unique properties that aren't visible in standard marketplace listings.

Simply paste an inspect link from Steam Market, BUFF163, CS.MONEY, or any other marketplace, and we'll show you the skin's exact float value, paint seed, sticker positions, and a 3D preview.

Why it matters: Two "Factory New" skins can look completely different. A 0.001 float is pristine while a 0.069 float shows visible wear — but both are labeled "FN".

How to Use the CS2 Skin Inspector

1
Find the Inspect Link

On Steam Market, right-click "Inspect in Game" and copy the link. On third-party sites, look for an inspect button.

2
Paste the Link

Paste into the input field above. Links start with steam://rungame/730/

3
View Results

We fetch data directly from Steam's servers and display float value, pattern info, and stickers.

4
Get 3D Preview

The 3D viewer loads automatically so you can rotate and inspect the skin from every angle.

What is Float Value in CS2?

Float value (wear value) is a number between 0 and 1 that determines how worn a skin looks. Lower float = less wear = cleaner appearance.

ConditionFloat Range
Factory New (FN)0.00 – 0.07
Minimal Wear (MW)0.07 – 0.15
Field-Tested (FT)0.15 – 0.38
Well-Worn (WW)0.38 – 0.45
Battle-Scarred (BS)0.45 – 1.00

Why it matters: A 0.070 FN looks almost identical to a 0.071 MW, but one is worth significantly more.

What is Paint Seed (Pattern Index) in CS2?

Paint seed (pattern index) is a number from 0 to 1000 that determines exactly how the skin's texture is positioned on the weapon.

Why it matters for certain skins:

  • Case Hardened: Determines blue gem patterns — some seeds worth 10x+ more
  • Fade: Affects fade percentage and color distribution
  • Marble Fade: Controls Fire & Ice, Blue Dom patterns
  • Slaughter: Determines diamond, heart, angel patterns

For most skins paint seed has minimal impact, but for pattern-based skins it can mean the difference between common and collector's item.

CS2 Sticker Inspection — Names, Positions & Wear

Our inspector shows exactly which stickers are applied and their condition:

  • Sticker Name: The exact sticker applied
  • Position: Which slot (1–4) the sticker is in
  • Wear: How scratched the sticker is (0% = perfect)

This is crucial because sticker combinations can significantly increase value, especially with rare Katowice 2014, Titan Holos, or iBUYPOWER stickers.

Why Inspect CS2 Skins Before Buying?

Always inspect skins before purchasing to avoid overpaying or getting scammed:

  • Verify Float: Ensure you're getting the exact wear advertised
  • Check Pattern: Confirm valuable patterns like blue gems
  • Confirm Stickers: Make sure rare stickers are actually applied
  • See Actual Appearance: Screenshots can be misleading
  • Compare Prices: Use float data to ensure fair pricing

Frequently Asked Questions About CS2 Skin Inspection

Where do I find inspect links?
On Steam Market, right-click "Inspect in Game" and copy the link. On sites like BUFF163, CS.MONEY, or BitSkins, look for an inspect icon or button next to listings.
Is this tool free?
Yes, our skin inspector is completely free to use with no limits.
How accurate is the float value?
We fetch data directly from Steam's Game Coordinator servers, so float values are 100% accurate to the game's data.
Can I inspect StatTrak and Souvenir skins?
Yes, our inspector works with all CS2 skins including StatTrak, Souvenir, and special items like knives and gloves.
What's the difference between this and in-game inspect?
In-game inspect only shows you a visual preview. Our tool reveals the exact float value, paint seed, sticker wear percentages, and other hidden data that determines the skin's true value. Plus you get a 3D preview without needing CS2 installed.
Do I need CS2 installed to use this inspector?
No. SteamAnalyst's skin inspector works entirely in your browser. You can check float values, paint seeds, stickers, and view full 3D previews on any device — desktop, tablet, or phone — without Counter-Strike 2 installed.
Which marketplaces provide inspect links?
Most CS2 marketplaces include inspect links: Steam Community Market, BUFF163, CS.MONEY, BitSkins, Skinport, DMarket, and others. Look for an "Inspect" button or right-click "Inspect in Game" on Steam Market listings.
What are the best float values for CS2 skins?
The lowest possible float is 0.000000 (perfect). Collectors prize floats under 0.001 for Factory New skins. For certain skins, extremely high floats (0.999+) called "max battle-scarred" are also collectible. The actual minimum and maximum float varies per skin — not every skin can reach 0.00 or 1.00.
